JayOne, Alex Wise and DJ Mehdi can’t stop talking. They just love to talk. Get the three together at a dinner table and you get an exhibition project, a short graphic movie and the music to go with it!
Now how did they do it? A project combining visuals, lettering and music? A band?
Well, exactly. Jay was the spontaneous one. Alex, rational. Mehdi wanted to take something home after the performance. Then the concept got defined : to confine themselves in an empty white room in order to observe, listen, interact, create. For five days they painted, composed, recorded… Each day the room was repainted white and all machines reset, repeating the exercise tempered by the previous day’s interaction. Everyday a clip was produced, documenting the work of the three artists. New visuals, new music, a new theme each day. The result, a five-part film on DVD, a unique record of the immersion of three visions in a virgin environment. The title, the sum of the impromptu daily themes : GOFAST ELECTRIC AIR NEVER LASTS.
